PSN Video Store Now In Service

July 15, 2008

Announced earlier today at E3 and now avaliable on all of your PS3s, there is now a Video tab in the PlayStation Store. Some contributing companies to the Video Store include Disney, Fox, Lions Gate, MGM, Warner, Sony Pictures, Paramount, Turner, and Funimation.

After clicking the tab you will be able to purchase or rent, TV shows and movies in both SD and HD. TV shows will start at $1.99, movie rentals will be from $2.99 to $5.99, and movie purchases will cost from $9.99 to $14.99. You can view items by different categories like studio or genre, and every item has a preview that you can watch before downloading just to make sure it’s what you want.

The download time for a standard definition two hour movie is approximately one hour, but you can choose to start watching the movie one minute after starting the download. Once the download is finished you can watch the video from your PS3’s video section, or you can transfer it to various devices, such as the PSP. The store will be updated weekly, so be sure to stop by frequently.
