Burnout Bikes Dated For September 18th

September 13, 2008

What used to be a four-wheel vehicle exclusive is now including the two-wheeled cousin into the mix. This coming Thursday (September 18th), Criterion Games is releasing the Bike Pack, allowing gamers to get their wheelie on. From the Official PlayStation Blog, Criterion would like to remind everyone that the new update will include:

  • The ability to pick from 2 motorcycles featuring male or female characters and start on a whole new progression to earn your Bike License.
  • 38 new against-the-clock race events – Burning Ride and Midnight Ride.
  • A brand new in-game 24 hr day / night cycle that impacts traffic density and available events. (It’s fully customisable – you can make it day/night/change the clock speed – it’s up to you.)
  • Dynamic weather brings an all-new look to Paradise City.
  • And if that’s not enough, we’ve got 70 more Freeburn Challenges too.

I’d like to present The Outstanding Achievements In DLC Award to: Critetion Games. Seriously, fantastic work guys!

Burnout Paradise Crashing Onto PSN

August 14, 2008

It seems like the entire video game industry is going digital. Burnout Paradise of Criterion Games is following suit of Warhawk and Grand Turismo 5 Prologue. The destructive, open-world racer will be a downloadable game exclusively on the PSN this Fall. The download will come with the game and every released update already in place. For only $29.99, this is a definite bargain.

Burnout’s Cagney Update Is Here

August 4, 2008

The third update for Criterion Game’s Burnout Paradise has finally arrived. This new pack is jammed full of content, and better yet, it’s free. All online-enabled systems will have their game automatically updated. Included in the Cagney pack are:

3 New Online Modes:

  • Road Rage: An 8-player team race in which one team must pass checkpoints and the other team must stop them.
  • Stunt Run: Race simultaneously with your opponents as you try to pull stunts and raise your score. Hit your enemies to lower their score, but gain air, hit billboards, and go off ramps to increase yours.
  • Marked Man: One racer is randomly selected, and everyone else has to take him out. The target gains points for surviving and demolishing opponents.

70 New Freeburn Challenges:

  • -All new timed, multi-part challenges with leaderboards, to see how you place against the world.

2 New Vehicles:

  • Hunter Olympus
  • -Secret Criterion Car

That’s not all, though. To see all the other fine upgrades, go to Criterion’s own blog. Burnout addicts will have a lot more to keep them playing now.
